I had one post recently on writer’s block. Today I was writing OK, but just needed to get away from the computer. My back was hurting, and my vision was getting blurry.

Today, I stopped, and did my laundry, loaded the dishwasher, and watched a movie. That was enough time to rest my eyes from the close screen, and flex my back a little.

There are times when writer’s block isn’t the only problem. You may need to get away just to refresh yourself.

Some of us are so disappointed in what we see as love— even to the point we can’t imagine God’s love.

I have a friend who was all set to be married, and his wife, to be, told him she changed her mind and left him broken hearted just weeks before the wedding. To add an insult to injury, she married another guy within six months. My friend has never married, and is still careful about his relationships with women.

The problem is—human love is convenient.  It’s limited.  We can’t depend on it.  It’s hormones—it’s emotional.  Like eating the wrong thing before you go to bed.  It felt good at first—but now?  Not so much! It actually leads to heart burn.

However, God’s love is unlimited.  It is commitment. God has feelings for us, but his feelings don’t dictate his love.  God’s love is based on His decision!  His love is deeper and more secure than anything you’ve ever experienced in your life. God never Changes. His love is eternal.

So what do we do to make our love a better version?  How about if we express God’s love in our human relationships? How about we become that “someone” in the life of another who can look back and say, “I saw God’s love in them!”

I realize that could be very hard to do if you were like my friend. He did nothing wrong. He was struck down for no reason. However, I can tell you that my friend is a most loving guy, that may not know how to show it sometimes, but he would give you the shirt off of his back.

This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us. He sent his Son to die in our place to take away our sins.  Dear friends, if God loved us that much we also should love each other. No one has ever seen God, but if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is made perfect in us.  I John 4:9-12″

If we could show that much love, the world would be a very different place.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken,

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

We are very lucky in that we have life that God has given us. We can enjoy the many creations He has done, and get our nourishment from the food He provides in the fields.

Sometimes we aren’t so lucky. There are storms and trials that come our way. Just today, I learned that one of my good friends had a stroke. It was unexpected. I visited him at the hospital and he was upbeat, but bewildered by the chain of events. He wasn’t depressed, but it was one of those “why me” times.

Also today, my nephew had to go in for a fourth surgery on his neck, because staff infection attacked his neck after a routine neck surgery where he should have been back to work in a few days. He is a young man, and yet he is fighting for his life right now.

Think about these two situations. Can you see that we never know when the storms may hit? We may feel everything is wonderful and then the darkness comes.

Be prepared for the trials that throw us into the muck and mire. Always remember that God is always there for us. he will allow the storms, but He helps calm them.

Stand strong in the Lord, because with Him on our side who can be against us?

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

I just announced to my family at our Thanksgiving Day dinner about my b00k, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” winning a national award. It was named as a finalist at the Reader’s Favorite Awards.

They sent me stickers to put on my books. This well result in an increase in sales, and another talking point in my signings.

This was accomplished through hard work, and taking the time to enter the different award shows. Don’t ever think it won’t happen to you. Just do it!

Being a Care giving has its bad and good moments. Today was a bad (actuallly good) moment with my mom. She had been showing signs of clearing out a bladder infection, and they had finally decided that they could do a test on her next  BM. They suspect she has another virus condition that is highly contagious, and they need to control it with the proper medication.

Well, I was with her in the dining room helping her eat, when she said, “I need to go to the bathroom.”  When she says that it usually means we are too late.

That is exactly what it meant. When I got her back to her room and into the bathroom, she had a huge accident (BM) all over the floor, my right arm, and all over her cloths.

Why am I telling you this very unpleasant story? It is because they have been waiting a month for the right BM, and this was it. They got the culture they needed, and the clean up didn’t take that long. This brings a new meaning to the phrase, “God works in mysterious ways.”

Folks, That is what care giving is all about. It isn’t for the faint of heart.

I praise anyone who is a care giver for a loved one. It has its rewards, but there are also times when it can be hard, and down right depressing.

I love my mother and I believe that since she cared for me 24/7 when I was little, it is the least I can do for her now.

You can see the hurt in her eyes when something like this happens, but we all know that it isn’t her fault, and we show her even more love while she is going through it.

Caring for your parents, spouse, or children,  can be heart breaking, but believe me they love you for doing it much more than you will ever know.

I am considering writing a book on care giving and its problems. Do you think there is a need for one?
