Some people feel there is no hope. There are those who have lost their jobs. There are others who have lost a loved one, or have some bad news from their doctor. Where is the hope there?

I have been in the deep muck and more wondering the same things. I have been at the corner of despair and hopelessness.

I almost gave up myself. I was sitting in my Ford Explorer and thinking of suicide. It was at that point that I cried out to God that I couldn’t take it anymore. God heard my cries and gave me a calmness I hadn’t felt in  months. He lifted me out of that muck and mire, and give me direction to write my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.”

You can have the same thing happen to you. Never let the scams of Satan sway your thinking into feeling that all is lost. God is always just a prayer away. My prayer was answer right on the spot.

Sometimes His timing isn’t that fast. We often don’t get a answer right away. God’s timing is perfect, however. He knows when the right time is for us.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are  never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Writing is not a sport. It is hard work and can get to the point of writer’s block. How do you avoid writer’s block?

Here are some things I do when that pesky writer’s block attacks:

  • Get away from the computer, or what ever device you use to write.
  • Go on a walk. Don’t think about your writing for one second on the walk. Look around and enjoy what you see.
  • Start another writing project that has no connection to what you are now working on. A fresh start often gets the brain working again.
  • Have lunch with a friend, and again, don’t talk about writing. Just enjoy the meal, and catching up on how your friend is.

Writing block doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, take measures to avoid it as much as you can by coming up with alternative things to do.

It is hard, at best, to accept life when someone you love is ill, and may not make it. I am going through that right now. My mother is almost 96 and she is failing her health this last week. It is very hard to visit her and see her slowly fade. I sometimes wonder to myself why God would let her linger so long through this pain and hard trial.

Then I think of what she has meant to me. I think that even though I have to hand feed her, she did the same thing for me when I was little. I also think of that when I have to change her clothes because she has had a accident.

Our parents went through some hard times to get us where we are today. The least we can do is provide them with as much comfort as possible in their final hours on this earth.

Take this day to go and thank your parents for all they have done for you. There may come a time where it will be too late.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

It is very exciting to hear of the successes of other writers.

Does that statement seem odd to you? Should we be wanting the “competition,” to do well?

The answer is, of course we should. Each writer is on their own mission. They have their own genre that they are pursuing.

Many times their success is in a genre that is totally different from yours, and wouldn’t affect your sales.

Even if they are writing the same exact genre and are a huge success, don’t you think other people will want to read more books that are in that genre?

The bottom line is that success is needed in the publishing world. We need to have many  authors become well known. We need to have many genre’s be successful.

Why does it always have to be such a rough road for a Christians after they accept Christ into their life? Granted, not all Christians have problems, but many do, and they  wonder why God would allow it once they have come into the fold.

God never promised us a rose garden once we start living a Christian life. He sometimes allows the storms to come, like what is happening n the east coast of the United States right now. He allows them but He also helps calm the storms.

We will face persecution and hard times as Christians. I see it as the least I can do for our Lord who went through so many storms, pain and agony for me.

You are not unloved.
