I have a book signing coming up on August 24th that runs for 11 straight days to September 3rd. It is at the Oregon State Fair, in Salem, Oregon. There is an author’s table in the AmeriCraft building, which was once called the Jackman-Long building. I will be there from 10:00am-9:00pm everyday. Come out and say hello if you live close.

Thoughts just for you…

I have certainly enjoyed my time meeting so many new people at the fair. It has also been a very grueling task, of eleven hours days. That can take a toll on a person. I have a feeling that I will need a couple of days of doing noth9ng when my time at the fair is over.

Are you tired and weary of the rat race you have to face every day? Are there times you wish you could stay home and not face the storms of life that are waiting for you?

The rat race is over bearing at times, but realize that even rats rest. They take time out from their causing a mess to sleep and get ready for the next day of causing trouble.

You need to need to rest as well. Be like the mighty ocean tides. They come rushing in and out everyday. But, at a certain point in the tide, there is no movement at all. It is called “high tide.” It is when the water isn’t going in any direction. It lasts for only a few minutes, but the tides rests just the same.

You don’t need to get caught up in the rat race. You can still achieve many things by doing a normal daily routine. You don’t have to climb up that business ladder to be successful. Beside it can be slippery and you could quickly slide right back down to the bottom.

Enjoy life, and rest in the peace of God. He will even give you rest during the worst of times you have in the muck and mire.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Thoughts just for you…

Sometimes trying to live a perfect Christian  life can be so difficult that it leaves us drained and discouraged. We may feel so far from perfect that we may never please God with our lives.

Those who are mature should press on in the Holy Spirit’s power, knowing that Christ will reveal and fill in any discrepancy between what we are and what we should be.

We can always make excuses that we still have much to learn. The instruction for us is to live up to what already know and live out what we have already learned. We don’t have to be sidetracked by an unending search for Him.

We need to remember that new Christians will be looking to us for guidance, and understanding. If we share what we have learned so far, we can help them grow into a more mature Christian. We are living examples to others, and because of this we need to be on constant alert to what we are doing, and what we say.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

Above all…never, ever, give up!

Thoughts just for you…

I had the privilege to be at the birth of a new nephew last night. He is 8# and 8 oz. He let everyone know he is around right away. He yelled at us for a long time. 🙂

Birth of a new child, for anyone, is a blessed event. It shares a new beginning. It gives us hope of a bright future for the little one.

Can we be assured that Braden will have a bright future. There is turmoil in our world today. We have many people threatened, or even killed in places like Syria.

The economy is flat, and there doesn’t seem to be a change in the horizon. People are out of jobs, out of health insurance, and out of mind.

How can we be assured of a bright future for anyone with all this happening around us?

If we truly believe in God, we know we have a bright future. He is in control. Yes, it seems He is allowing the bad guys to rule right now, but God never makes mistakes. He knows the final chapter of the book He is writing. The outcome is already written down.

It would be great if we could do like some people do while reading books. They sneak a peak at the ending of the book to see what happens. 

We can’t, but we know that God will conquer all the evil, and send His only Son down to earth to rule again. That is the bright future we can promise for little Braden. He will know that he is safe in the arms of our heavenly Father.
