I have an exciting announcement to make! I was selected as a finalist for the Reader’s Favorite Awards for my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.”  The category is self-help/Christian Living.

This is such an honor for me. It started out as a 5 star review from them and then the book went all the way to being one of the finalist. I wasn’t named to  the top honor, but I still was sent stickers I can put on my books saying I was a finalist, and the book is now an award winning book.

You are probably asking, ” How did you even get a chance to win this award?” There are many places that have books awards. Just put in “book awards” in your Google search area, and start submitting today. You never know, you may have sticker sent to you, as well, that will help you sell many more books.

How do we show love to others that lets them know we are Christians.

This has been a question that many have asked others.

Let me share the story of Paul. He hated Christians/Jews. He persecuted the Jews, and put some to death. He even held the coats of the men who stoned Stephen to death.

He was walking to Damascus, which is still part of Syria today, and met Jesus. Jesus said, “Saul, Saul, Why do your persecute me?” Saul was then named Paul, before the LORD changed it.

Paul was awe stuck, and fell to the ground. He turned his life over to the LORD right on the spot, and he then went all around the country telling others about Jesus . He shared the need to spread love to everyone.

Why this long story? You and I don’t need to walk on the road to Damascus to know that we can share love with others by sharing our faith like Paul did. We can talk about how The Lord open our hearts and minds to Him, and how that changed our lives.

It doesn’t take a person who is highly educated to share the gospel, or tell stories about their own lives. It just take a person who loves others enough to be concerned for their souls.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken,

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Why do I need to go to a writer’s conference? (I thought you would never ask!)

Writer conferences have many benefits that some people may not know about. Let me mention a few:

  • You can have your manuscript critiqued by professional editors or agents for free.
  • You can have appointments with those same agents, and editors, plus many publishers.
  • You can go to many workshops that teach you some skills to be a better writer.
  • You can sit and talk with other writers and get feedback from them on how they were successful.
  • You can hear highly successful authors give key note speeches on their approach to success.

Going to a writer’s conference has too many benefits for you to pass them up. Try to fit one in this year.

Do you try to hid your past? Are you ashamed of something you have done. I have been there. I thought I was worthless and had a past that was not very glamorous. I was having many pity parties that no one wanted to come to.

How can we keep on going forward, when we keep living  in the past? We can’t. How can we clear up our past? We just need to ask God to forgive any past action that is wrong in His eyes, and turn them all over to Him.

Once you have asked God to forgive you, He erases all your sins and negative past out of His books. They are gone forever.

You have a fresh start, and can concentrate on pleasing God for the rest of your life, and you can look for a bright future.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never unloved.

You are never forsaken.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

It’s Friday, and the weekend is creeping up on me. The weather is beautiful, and everything seems fine.

When things are going great, is that when we think we don’t need to pray? Many people feel that way. They only cry out to God when  a storm hits.

I have found that less storms hit when I talk to God everyday. I am nto saying that you will never face trials when you pray everyday. God allows some trials, so we will still depend on Him for protection.

I try to do my devotions everyday rain or shine;  good things happening or bad.

I find comfort just spending time with God, and praying for those I care about. It also forces me to think of others that I may not think about if I am not praying for them.

Prayer, and spending time with God is essential for Christian growth. Some people feel that going to church is enough, but to be growing spiritually, I feel that we need to spend time with God during the week as well.

Got to go…it is time for my devotions.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
