It has been a very busy, stressful, unnerving, and wonderful time around here for the last month. We have been living out of boxes. We had the whole inside of our home re-painted. It was so distracting. I had a hard time concentrating on my computer work.

Now we have most of the boxes empty, and much of our belongs put away. We have a chance to look at what we were trying to accomplish. the inside of our home is so beautiful now. New paint; new wall hangings, etc. It’s like we moved into a new home.

Haven’t had much time to work on my new book, “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” I am also dealing with a bone spur in my neck that is causing numbness down both arms. I can’t type for very long, but I will have surgery next month and I should be fine.

All this showed me that even though we sometimes go through some raging storms in our lives, we know that the storms end. There will be another day. There will be better things around the next bend in the road.

Have you had times when you were all stress out, and distracted by the turmoil going on around you? Has the world been pulling you down like a huge magnate?

You need to stop and take a rest from the rat race for a while. You know what? Even rats rest, so you should too.

Take time to be silent and get to know God better. Spend time in a quiet setting and read His word. Talk to Him through your prayers. You will find peace and joy in the world that is on a fast course.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all….never, ever, give up!

Some people have asked, “How could you know what to write on your author page and blog?” That is a very good question.

I often don’t know what I am going to write until I start hitting the keys on the computer. God directs me often.

I have been through many physical and mental afflictions in my life, and so has my partner Dennis Booth at www.dailysignsofhope.com.

We use those experiences to put down thoughts that help those suffering from the same things. It lead to my first book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.” That book starts out telling you of my lowest time in my life, when I was sitting in my Ford Explorer, contemplating suicide. The book has sold well, and there will be several more coming out with the “Signs of Hope,” theme.

One of the things that all of us need is comfort. We all need reassurance. We all need to know someone cares. The “Signs of Hope” books lets everyone know someone cares. They will give reassurance and give them comfort.

Are you one of those who are seeking answers? Do you keep all your hurts to yourself? Do you feel failure when you have to ask for help. I have been there myself. I know what you are going through.

It is the silence that is hard on us. We want to let others into our world and help, but we are ashamed to need that help.

Don’t ever be that way anymore. I sought help from God, and my family. I opened up to them, and my life changed.

You are a special person to God. He loves you. He cares for you. He will protect you through the storms of your life. He made you in His own image. Don’t you think He will help you when He sees you as His child?

One last thought…If God is for us, who can be against us?

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all….never, ever, give up!

What a last few days I have had:

  • Last Friday I was changing my mother’s sheets on her bed, and I twisted my back for the third time this month.
  • I had two nuclear type stress tests last week.  I will know the results and what my cardiologist found plus what he may want to do next.
  • My mother is failing in her health the last two days. She has been passing out often. She has been on hospice care, and the hospice nurse thinks they were actually mini strokes.

Since I am being bombarded with many trials the last few days, I want to share some thoughts I found on my trials during my devotions the last few weeks:

  • God meets our needs in amazing ways, and we can be involved in other’s lives in the same way. We can be agents of hope. In other words, through my own trials I can help others.
  • I can be assured that God is active and at work in my life, including my trials, my church, my community, and my world, bringing His purposes and His plan into completion. I learned from this that not matter what I face God has a purpose, and it is a part of His plan.
  • The wonderful amazing grace, that the Lord has extended to me must be what I model and practice in my relationships with others. Again, I should never be angry or upset because of my trails.

Do I have reason to be upset? I guess so. This last week has been a huge burden on me. The stress has been pulling me down like a huge magnate.

But, I am not. I know God loves me, and I know that all things work for the good of those who believe.

Never let circumstances dictate your life. Keep a steady walk with the Lord, even through the storms and trials.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
