Exciting news! We have a new book on the way that I am writing with Dennis Booth, from New South Wales, Australia. It will be called, “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” (Working Title.) It is a compiling of posts that Dennis and I have been doing on my blog at: www.dailysignsofhope.com. There are 45,900 followers on that site, and it is because so many people are seeking hope and it is provided there.

*Update: 10-25-13. I have about one half of my share of the book done. Dennis is rolling in the devotions now after a computer break down. We still don’t have a publishing date yet, but stay tuned to see what is happening. I will try to have an update often.

It has been a long while since I last  posted here. I have been through some health issues that have taken me away from my work here.

I had surgery earlier this month, and ran into some complications. I had neck surgery to have a bone spur removed. That part seemed to heal OK. However, I am still having serious trouble swallowing any solid food. I am on a “liquid,” diet of milkshakes, soups and juices. I like the milkshake part, but it is hard when my wife has a steak at a restaurant and I only can have soup.

I assume you have had some storms like this in your own life. Many people have had trials come their way.

I am a walking dictionary for those who suffer. I can say I have been there for many of the ailments people have faced. I have had six major surgeries, including quadruple by-pass surgery. I am able to relate to those who have been through the same things.

That is why I am putting this new book together with my friend Dennis Booth from Australia. He also has been through some huge storms in his life, and we are writing some devotionals from our blog at www.dailysignsofhope.com.

The book will be called, “Signs of Hope: For the Weak Days.” (Working title) It will have actual posts we have been putting up on the Signs of Hope site to help those who have been struggling with pain, fear, anxiety, depression, addictions, self-doubt, and the many other usual suspects.

It is a follow-up of my first book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World.” It continues on with more words of comfort, and guidance, for those who need to find way to cope in this not so friendly world.

Keep looking here for updates on how it is doing, and when the release date will be. I know you will be blessed, as much as Dennis and I have been while writing the book.

I haven’t posted for almost two months. I have had adversity in its highest form, and it has slowed me down.

I lost my mother on February 1st. She was 95 years old, but there is still a time of grieving when you lose a loved one. I also had some health issues with my heart. I have A-Fib, and a damaged heart from a previous heart attack.

I also lost a dear friend within hours of my mother’s death.

I am back now, and still strong with the Lord.  All this adversity seemed to make me even stronger. It made me think of how short a life time we have on this earth, and that we need be thankful for every day we have.

As I mentioned up in the lead in area my book, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, has been out in eBook form for about a year. However, we just lowered the price from $4.99 to $2.99. That is quite a savings. Please check it out by clicking on the Amazon icon on the right. Think of Easter coming and how it could help many through the storms of life.

I have a podcast here that I did with John Kremer, the marketing guru. He invited me to share unusual places to sell books. Take a listen and hit those streets running: goo.gl/WGTF7

I have been asked if once you are with a self-publishing company can you switch to someone else if you aren’t happy, or found a company that does better quality work.

The answer is yes. Contact your current publisher and ask for a print ready copy of your manuscript, cover, and back page. Most will send you that for a small fee.

Then you are free to contact any other self-publishing company and switch to them.

It has been hard to think of anything to write about except the recent tragedies in the United States. Senseless shootings that took many wonderful people.

This is suppose to be the holiday season that is full of joy, and hope.

Please understand that God is in charge, and He has a plan. It doesn’t look like He cares, but think on this.

  • The Ten Commandments can not be shown in any government buildings.
  • Prayer is not allowed in schools.
  • School programs can’t be called, Christmas programs anymore. They can only be called holiday programs.
  • The school can’t promote any books or songs that support Christian values.

God is not welcome in the schools. So He didn’t cause the chaos. A crazed shooter did.  God is probably in tears over the loss of the little children. You can be assured that they are all be loved right now in Heaven.

I will not dwell on this last tragedy just so I can write something sensational. This will be the last reference to it, but please pray for all the people affected by this horrific act. Each person that was killed had a circle of loved ones who are grieving right now.

God be with you also. I know of so many friend here where I live who are taking the event very seriously, and are grieving as well.
