Thoughts just for you…

I had a very interesting last few days. It is called a wedding! My nephew and his future wife had the rehearsal dinner on Thursday night. The rehearsal went well, and we headed to the rehearsal dinner.

It was at a Greek restaurant. I have only been to a Greek restaurant a couple of time, and this was a great experience.

The food came in different courses. First we had several different kinds on appetizers.  The calamari was different in that it either had huge pieces of tenecles  from a larger octopus, or the whole octopus, but a tiny little ones. I had nothing to to with the little guys. I didn’t want them sliding down my throat.

The main course was wonderful. Lamb chops, and a Greek salad that was out of this world.

All this time wine bottles were being brought to the tables. Every Time there was an empty bottle they replaced it with a full one. Can you begin to know what the atmosphere was getting to be like?

Then after about an hour, a belly dancer came out and all the groomsmen went nutzo!!She did very well with the dollars being place on her (don’t know what it is called) Skirt?

Then it was Saturday, and the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding. It was set in the woods near a river.

The pastor talked to the couple, and pronounced them man and wife.  Afterwards at the reception, was another “party,” with free wine and beer. It got pretty wild in there after a while. No one was overly drunk, but there were certainly a lot of very happy people.

This brings up the question about weddings:

If you are married can you tell me what was actually said by the person doing the ceremony? Most of us can remember the words, “to cherish, and to hold,” and “Til death do us part.” But what about what the Pastor said directly to you?

At this wedding this Pastor said, “Wives, submit yourselves to your husband. Support him through the trials, and and the happiness of life.  Husbands respect your wives, and treat them with love and compassion.

I can remember some of the words my Pastor used, and still try to be the best husband I can be to my lovely wife.

So, the wedding is over…now what? There will be days of shear joy, and days of hurt feelings, and little spats. It is called life.

Remember that you should love your spouse as much as the day you first married them. Many times the love grows into something much more wonderful. That is what has happened in my life.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

Above all….never, ever, give up!

Thought just for you….

When I heard all the fireworks going off last night, it was a comfortable feeling, because it is a celebration of our freedoms we have here in the United States. We enjoy more freedoms than most of the other countries in the world have.

Do we take them for granted? I think that may be true with many people.  There are people here that want more. They want to be allowed to do what they want when they want to do it.

What if we lost all that freedom? What if we didn’t have the rights we have today in the United States? What if we couldn’t worship in a church, or even own a Bible? That could happen, and we need to be aware of that.

Thank God each day for the freedoms you do have wherever you live in the world.

Remember this:

  • God doesn’t care what country you come from. He loves you just as much as anyone else. We are ALL God’s children.
  • Those that believe in Him, will have eternal life waiting for them, no matter what hardships they face now on earth. Many have no freedoms at all in some countries, but they too will have all the freedoms we will all have when we meet God, and love Him.
  • Never give up. There is glory ahead for those who finish the race, and fight the good fight.

Remember:

You are not alone.

You are not forsaken.

You are not unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Thoughts just for you…

As Christians, we are told we need to share our beliefs with others. We may do that amongst our friends, and acquaintances, but what about our own family?

Do you have a brother, or sister, that isn’t a believer? Does your parents scoff at you about your faith? What about your grandparents. Think ever further about you Uncles, Aunts, or even your nieces and nephews?

How sad it would be if you didn’t do your part in telling those who are close to you, and they lost their souls.

I know, it is much harder to talk to our loved ones. It is much harder to think of the right things to say, because if the fear that they will reject you, and cause a wall between you and them.

However, if we use that excuse for ever, we may lose some loved ones who never were challenged and were lost.

We don’t need to release fire and hail on our loved ones. We can share what a change it made for us to turn our lives over to God, and that we want them to feel the same love.

Then we need to pray. We need to pray daily that the seed we just planted will grow into a new soul. believe me they will remember the little you said each time they see you. You never have to “hound,” them about it ever again.

Prayer takes over. Pray without ceasing, and the outcome will be a blessed event of that love one eventually submitting themselves to God.

I am not an authority on this except that too have some close loved ones who are not willing to accept the Christian life as yet. I will not stop my quest to keep praying daily for them. My reward is eternal life for those who eventually give their hearts to God.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
